In Today's World fast evolving technologies are changing the world we live in, shrinking time, doing our work, feeding us, communicating for us, connecting us all together, and even altering our bodies and minds. Changes occur so fast that no one, no matter how smart, can keep up. Nanotechnology, now receiving billion dollar federal grants, promises to build tiny machines within 5 to 10 years that can construct or rearrange any substance at the molecular level. The Human Genome Project has finished mapping the human genetic collection. This map means doctors and others will soon be able to tinker with the very code that constructs and controls human life. |

| Robotopia
will arrive as early as the current decade. In the coming Robotopia,
humans will not work, yet everything will be free in limitless quantities
for free. Robotopia is even now developing around us, as more and more
products get cheaper, even free, especially free access to the World
Wide Web, plus more free software than any contemporary brain can master.
Extropia and Posthumanism refer to post biological humans. Thousands of people now either belong to groups which openly discuss the time when our machines become more intelligent that meat brain humans. Some expect human consciousness may be transferred from flesh to super fast, superintelligence computer like devices. Extropian Art tries to visualize the Post biological world, usually embracing technologies with the notion of taming them for humans' mutual benefit. |
